Community guidelines

Dabbel works because people show up and treat each other well. These rules apply in the app, in group chats and at every meetup.

The rules

Be real
  • You must be 18 or older.
  • Use your real name and a clear, recent photo of yourself.
  • Don’t pretend to be someone else, and keep to one account.
Be kind
  • No harassment, bullying, hate or threats.
  • No unwanted advances, comments about someone’s body, or explicit messages and photos.
  • Don’t share other people’s personal information.
  • Take no for an answer. If a host declines your request or someone leaves, let it go.
Show up, or say so
  • Only join plans you mean to go to.
  • If something comes up, tell your group in the chat as early as you can.
  • Hosts: if you need to change or cancel, update the activity right away.
Keep it honest
  • Describe activities accurately, including the time, place, skill level and cost.
  • If it’s paid, say how much up front.
  • Dabbel isn’t a marketplace. No spam, sales pitches, scams or asking people for money.
Meet safely
  • Pick a public place for a first meetup.
  • Get yourself there and back, and let a friend know where you’re going.
  • You can leave any time. Nobody should pressure you to drink, stay or share your contact details.
Nothing illegal or dangerous

No drugs, weapons or illegal activity, and no activities that involve minors. See our child safety standards.

What happens off the app counts

These rules cover how you treat people at meetups and in any messages that started on Dabbel. We can take action based on reports about either.

Reporting and blocking

Report someone from their profile for harassment, spam, a scam or inappropriate content. Blocking works both ways and removes you from any group chats you share.

For anything urgent, email support@dabbel.app. If someone is in danger, contact local emergency services first.

What we do

Depending on what happened, we may remove content, warn you, or suspend or ban your account. We work with law enforcement when needed. Making false reports to target someone is also against these rules.
